Haval H6 review test drive Close but no cigar Coolum North Shore News

Samsung Galaxy S8 more Hammer & Knife Scratch Test

Even H6 base gets a parking radar around, camera, automatic air con inversion two areas, entry and keyless start, all for 29990 moving vehicles.
It is a total tiddler Australia today, though - like other ambitious immigrants to land on our shores - he has big plans for the future.
Haval is a high-end SUV only offspring of the working class based brand Great Wall, which sells mainly Utes.
It is in Australia since last year with a range of four models, although so far it has only managed 286 sales A new H7, with more of a coupe look a boxy SUV, is on the way .
Despite modest sales in Australia, the H6 is currently the best selling SUV in China.
It Sá Mazda CX-5 family size car with a vehicle moving bottom line 29990 To put this in perspective, the CX-5 starts from 27.890 before on the roads and most of the opposition will be more like 35,000 with similar equipment and drive-aways done.

This means that despite the high ambitions of the group range, it is a challenger brand in the lower end of the scale of the SUV.
As with the other challengers, he should under-promise and over deliver on everything from design and quality to the cabin - inevitably - a five-year warranty to provide peace of mind to people who take a punt on a Haval.
There are two versions of H6, but both have a 2 0-liter turbo petrol engine and front wheel drive, with a box of double clutch six-speed Getrag.
Even the basic premium - it is also the fully charged LUX - receives a parking radar around, camera, automatic air con two reverse zones, entry and keyless start, automatic lights and wipers and 17-inch alloys.
Moving at LUX 33990-start brings larger alloys, xenon headlights, a sunroof and heated seats with giant faux leather.

But there is no star ANCAP safety and still is a big question need to respond quickly, given the poor performance of Chinese cars in crash tests.
I do not expect much of the Haval My experience with Chinese cars shows that they are rare in quality and refinement, despite great promise and solid enthusiasm from a range of brands, including Geely, Chery and Great Wall.
And do not start s on reliability issues to the Great Wall, or asbestos found in some large walls that arrived in Australia.
But the H6 is surprisingly not bad It is a big step from the Mahindra of India, I was driving last year, and even my experience with the Holden Captiva.
The car is good, the paint finish is good and the quality of the cabin - both the materials and the way they fit together - is impressive in a blind badge without testing, H6 cabin could easily pass for something a Japanese manufacturer.
The H6 also gets along well, is pretty quiet in all conditions, has great air conditioning and is spacious for my family.

The Haval the tires are just horrible, meaning a fragile tower, too beating over bumps and poor cornering grip in all road conditions.
They Cooper, an American company with a solid reputation and a wide range of products that I wonder if Haval went cheap on the rubber or made the choice, so I contact the importer - Terry Smith, a long friend Date - to discover that he is not happy with that Haval did, he even sent some of his people to speak directly to Haval.
Why make a big deal about the tires because they show the Haval gift people still not know what they do not know, and that's always dangerous art in automotive tires are also an important shift from the rest of H6 package and ring alarm bells as I wonder what else has or could go wrong.
I also found the external mirrors are too big, obstructing my view at intersections, a space saver is negative and - for some reason - the warning lights for rear seat belts remain on all throughout my testing time.
But it's hard to argue against the car while in the driveway, or the excellent value in the package H6.

Looking at how it fits into the SUV scene, it is certainly ahead of a Captiva and makes a case by regular value compared with Honda and Nissan and even Toyota badge.
It is not a pacer or a favorite, but it is not as bad as I expected.
The H6 is not great, but I can see people look at the price and standard equipment and warranty, then ask if it's worth a punt.
For me it is very well as a purchase value and the quality looks good, which is a big step to the Great Wall utes and which were expensive but highly prone to problems but the Great Wall history has worried - and then there are the tires.
I also wonder how it goes in the ANCAP tests, especially as the Ford Mustang - a car that I thought was at least a four star success - recently scored two stars sluggish.

Thus, although the Haval H6 is surprisingly close, it is difficult to give it the green light.
