BYD China built more cars plug-ins than any other manufacturer last year.
Time for a quick quiz that automaker sold more plug-in electric vehicles last year both battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids than any other.
If you are a player in North America or Europe who managed to miss our title, chances are you can answer Tesla or Nissan, based on the media coverage of these two business achievement.
For the second consecutive year, the company that sold the most cars with plugs in the world is the first Chinese manufacturer BYD.
He squeaked past the 100,000 mark in 2016, a total deliveries of 100.178 46.905 vehicles and battery electrics 53,273 plug-in hybrids.

That's a better balance between the two types of electric vehicles in 2015, when plug-in hybrids outnumber all-electric of more than 4 to 1.
the year-end figures released by the company indicate that by 2016, it delivered 21,868 plug-in hybrids and 31.405 Qin Tang, for a total plug-in hybrid to more than 53,000.
battery electric vehicles included 20605 of the former e6, now with a larger battery for more than 80 kilowatt hours giving it a range estimated by EPA to 187 miles.
In addition to this are 10.656 Qin EV models and 15639 electric battery e5 compact sedan.
The total electric battery of 46905 also includes T3 exactly 5 small electric commercial vans.
But this year, BYD did not include compact hatchbacks Denza it built in a joint venture with Daimler between its plug-in passenger car and SUV in total.

For the record, these are all cars highway-capable; don t include the number which would be defined in North America as electric vehicles at low speed or neighborhood.

He however noted that it also sold 13.278 electric buses on six different models, and a total of 859 commercial trucks electric battery in no less than 12 different variations.
However, the Renault Nissan Alliance seems to have sold less than 100,000 battery electric vehicles this year mainly its Nissan Leaf and Renault Zoe models.
Silicon Valley luxury Tesla electric car manufacturer, meanwhile, shipped 76,230 of its electric Model S luxury hatchback and crossover utility vehicle model X.
Tesla noted that he has built nearly 84,000 vehicles last year, however.

Since 2015, national governments and the state in China have strengthened the incentives available for purchase and registration of new energy vehicles supposedly mainly those with a cap.
Although there is little guarantee that the plug-in hybrids that qualify for the incentives will never be connected with the apartments-home buyers, this is not the case with the electric battery.
This makes the split BYD last year by almost 50-50 an encouraging sign that Chinese buyers actually plug in their cell vehicles.
